Students enjoyed practicing calligraphy during “IEEC Chinese Culture” Series Activities.

On November 11th, IEEC held a calligraphy experience event in the south campus. Teacher Hongzhi Dong from School of Chinese Literature shared his enormous Chinese handwriting knowledge and taught basic Chinese calligraphy to students hand by hand.From Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Russia, Burundi and other countries, more than 20 students participated in the event. For most students, this was the first time they experienced Chinese calligraphy. They were very curious and excited to practice. In the end under the careful guidance of Teacher Dong, every participants wrote down “friend” in Chinese calligraphy. This event not only provided international students with an opportunity to experience Chinese calligraphy but also provided students with a platform to understand Chinese culture and history, enriched the students’ school life and knowledge.
